I had the two egg plate w/hashbrowns. They allowed me to switch my eggs for egg whites. Everything was really good. We’ll be back!

I order the full-sized order of the banana pancakes, and it makes more than enough for two, perhaps three breakfasts. I tend to take at least half home, and then I make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with the pancakes. Yes I do, and you’re welcome, because when you try it you’re going to want to thank me.

On weekends and holidays, they have some of the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had — it’s probably the quality of the eggs, which are so fresh and delicious their taste is incomparable to the kind you find at every other breakfast chain. I don’t drink coffee but when I splurge and get a glass of their fresh squeezed orange juice, I never regret it in spite of the high price tag.

Must haves are the apple pancake, dutch baby and their hot chocolate, although my favorite lately has been their spectacular potato pancakes. Be aware, though, the apple pancake and dutch baby can take up to half an hour to make, especially if they’re busy. The waitstaff is usually prompt, but can have lapses at times (forgetting to refill water glasses and coffee mugs).

This restaurant can be packed on the weekends, so call ahead to put your name on their waiting list.

Options, great food, fast service. There is always a wait- but of course when the prices are right and the food is so good.

I grew up in a small town full of pancake houses that served massive portions of good hearty food for at reasonable prices. Since I’ve lived in Seattle, I’ve never experienced that small town, home cooked feel until I discovered this place. When we had out of town guests, we all went here for brunch. There was a 20 minute wait, but they have a nice waiting area with free coffee and benches. It was totally worth the wait. The food was spot on and the prices were incredible the staff were super sweet. After feeding five people, stuffed to the gills we got a check for $40. We were convinced it was a mistake, but it wasn’t. Great food, value, homey small town feeling (in the good way), this place is the whole package.

We were once again impressed by the genuinely attentive service and the delicious food at the unpretentious Pancake House. This is not the place to take your hipster acquaintances, but it’s a wonderful place for family and friends. They don’t over-season the food, or do anything exotic, or make outsize portions that could feed three people. They just cook wonderful breakfasts.

Some of the “best pancakes on the planet” (including the “decadent” Dutch Baby) can be found at these Ballard and Kirkland outposts of the “popular”, “competitively priced” chain that also pleases with “puffed-up” omelets and other “delicious” morning items; it’s “a bit worn around the edges”, but “inviting” and “quick” once you sit down – just “get there early on the weekends, or your breakfast will end up being lunch.”
